WHAT IS BJJ?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that centers on ground fighting and grappling. Through precise positioning, joint-locks, and choke-holds, practitioners gain full control over their opponent, ultimately leading to submission.

Jiu Jitsu is renowned as one of the most comprehensive and effective martial arts globally. It adapts techniques to real-life scenarios, demonstrating that physical strength, fitness, or size are not prerequisites to overcoming a larger and stronger adversary. Instead, the art relies on fundamental principles like leverage, timing, weight distribution, and technique, rather than sheer strength.

At its core, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fosters individual development and personal growth. It instills values such as confidence, self-awareness, camaraderie, respect, discipline, responsibility, and humility.

These principles are central to the teachings of the Gentle Art, making it not just a martial art but a path to self-improvement and a holistic approach to life.
